Vote For Wynnie-Fred Victor Hinds

My Bio

I'm Wynnie-Fred Victor Hinds-Independent candidate for Essex County Commissioner At-Large, Line 4D on your November 3rd ballot. I am a community advocate who believes in this community and wanted to serve it after years of challenging faulty decision making by our commissioners and other decision makers. I have consistently earned the trust of the community and I have honored that trust every single day.

For two decades, I have advocated for various issues that are of concern to the community, clean air and water, green space, healthier environment, mismanagement, good jobs, and various issues that burden our community. I have built real partnerships with local government, state environmental agencies, local universities to bring resources and results to communities that have too often been ignored.

I answer to no party-not Democrat nor Republican-only to you. No machine and no political boss. Just the 800,000 residents of Essex County. I'm fighting for government transparency & accountability. On November 3rd find me on Line 4D. Visit wynniefredforessex.com. Let's Wynn This!!!

My Key Issues

Government Accountability and Fiscal Transparency

Essex County must have a government that works for its residents-not for political insiders. As your Independent Commissioner I will demand full transparency in every dollar of Essex County's $866 million budget, investigate contracts that benefit the politically connected over the public, and ensure every decision made at the county level serves the 896,379 people of Essex County-not the machine. No party. No boss. Just you.

Affordable Housing & Homelessness Alleviation

Essex County has the highest homelessness population of any county in New Jersey-over 2,400 neighbors without a roof over their heads, up 54% in just one year. Rents have risen 35% in three years. The Affordable Housing Trust Fund collects over $100 million annually but only deploys $36 million for actual affordable housing. As your Commissioner I will fight to close that gap, help protect tenants from displacement, and fight to ensure every Essex County family has a safe and affordable place to call home.

Environmental Justice & Community Health

No Essex County community should be treated as a sacrifice zone for pollution, flooding, or environmental neglect. From the Ironbound's fight against a fourth fossil fuel power plant to the delayed REAL Flood Protection Rules to freight truck diesel exhaust poisoning our neighborhoods-Essex County's overburdened communities have carried too much for too long. As your Commissioner I will use every tool this office provides to fight for clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment for every resident across all 22 municipalities.

Healthcare Access for All Residents

Healthcare is a human right-not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. As federal Medicaid cuts threaten to devastate Essex County's most vulnerable residents, we need a Commissioner who fights back. I will protect and expand county health services, bring mobile health resources to all 22 municipalities, advocate relentlessly to our Congressional delegation against federal healthcare cuts, and ensure county programs are explicitly inclusive of seniors, the uninsured, immigrants and the marginalized. No Essex County resident should choose between healthcare and groceries.
